Thomas Shun Wong was the younger brother Robert S. Wong. Both boys shared a passion for flying which started when they were young.
Thomas helped his brother build the Pientenpol Sky Scout airplane from a plan they had sent purchased. They assembled the aircraft using a car engine, wood and canvas sewn by their mother. It took them almost 2 years to build the plane.
During the war, Tommy started off as a Leading Aircraftsman 2 with RCAF, and later obtained his pilots wings.
After the war, both Thomas and his brother started a flying school in Ontario.
