Tuck Quon Fong

Tuck Quon Fong, most commonly known as Harry Fong, was born in Victoria in 1916, the eldest of eight children.

He was already 28 years old when he enlisted to serve Canada. He was trained and then stationed in Southeast Asia theatre of war, becoming a member of the Special Operations group Force 136.  Harry spent time in both India and Burma, where he was a Dominion Marksman First Class.

He was not discharged from service until May 7, 1946 and was honourably discharged. He proudly wore his Burma Star medal along with his Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and War Medal 1939-45.

Harry died suddenly in his hometown of Victoria in May 2003.
